Thursday night

Not a great food day today - I've been "eating my feelings" lately. Which is not ideal. But neither is is the end of the world. I'll live!

It was a WOD I hadn't done before this evening and I'm keen to do it again in a month cos I think it's a good one to benchmark against.

3 rounds
500m row
21 burpees (I did them without the pushup after the first round. Yes, i know. pathetic).
400m run

21:17

This should have been a sub 20 and that's what I'll be aiming for next time I do it.

Knees and ankles not feeling great and I'm not sure about this marathon caper. But hey, worst case scenario is that I get to have a fab holiday in NYC - not too bad!!

Friday evening.

An amazing sunset tonight - an amazing pink glow over the city.

Pull ups tonight

5x3 weighted pull ups.
1st round BW only
remaining rounds with 5#. I'm trying not to compare to what I used to be able to do but it's hard! 5# is awful.

Then Annie
50/40/30/20/10
DUs and abmat sit ups

7:29

Saw Lynn at the gym tonight and she looks amazing - has lost 20# and is doing awesome pull ups - chest to bar with 33#!!! Very inspiring to see how far she's come (and how far I've fallen). Makes me determined to keep going and not fall in a funk again.

Tuesday night

Tabata this
Pull ups (kipping from box)
Push ups (on tall box - my entire right shoulder/back is completely )
Sit ups
Squats

Total: 363

Those last few squat rounds are always killer!!

Food not great right now. Am eating bread again. Very emotional eating. Which logically I know is completely stupid but emotionally....waaah! I want bread to make me feel better. Actually, what I really want is a drink. But I gave that up 6 years ago, so not an option for me. Eating bread/sugar seems like a minor crime compared to all that.

Definitely feeling last night's tabata squats - ouch!!

Running tonight - oh goody!

Such a long way to go!!! But am enjoying being back in the gym. I love our little CF gym.

Nice job with Tabata Something Else!!

Are you hungry, angry, lonely or tired? Maybe that's playing into your eating/wanting a drink?

Come on now, Alix.... just keep chipping away, one day at a time. You know what they say- if you have one foot in yesterday and another foot in tomorrow, you just wind up ****ing on today.

You'll be feeling yourself again before you know it.

Here's a deal for ya- if you keep eating bread, I get your scull (assuming you have one?)

Thanks for the reminder about the HALTs!! Definitely angry and lonely (aren't relationships grand!!). Indulging in self-defeating behaviour is so boring!! And um, self defeating. Thanks for the kick!!

I know that in times of stress, like my recent move, it's important for me to eat well and keep exercising. CrossFit has helped my mental state immensely.

Hey- I rowed a quick 500m two nights ago-been recovering from a virus... I thought I was feeling a lot better, but apparently I wasn't because my time was 2:30! I can usually pull off a 2:00. I think about you when I row and your sub 2 min 500s. Awesome!

Thursday night.

As I was heading to the gym tonight I was thinking that I'd like to do DL and bench press (no idea why, that's just what popped into my head). I walk into the gym and the WOD is:

10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1
DL
Bench press (or shoulder press)
Power Clean

OMG!! I must be psychotic to have known that!!!

DL - 60kg (should have gone 65 or 70kg)
BP - 30kg (should have done 35kg)
PC - 25kg with dumbells
15:12

Then various core stuff
3 x 1min plank
2 sets of TGU with 8kg, 3 each side, front squat style (ooof!)

Lynn was freaking awesome on the rolling out ab wheel thing!! I'm so jealous!! Go Lynn!!

Oooh I think I need to get one of those ab wheel thingies. I hear they are really good and tough!
