Hey All,
I’m looking to do some serious bulk ordering and am wondering if anyone has additional recommendations or updates (I'm in New York, btw). Here’s a short list of what I found on the board:

Grassfed Beef:
Slanker’s Grassfed Meats: http://www.texasgrassfedbeef.com/

US Wellness Meats: http://www.uswellnessmeats.com/

Marin Sun Farms: http://www.marinsunfarms.com/index.html

*American Grassfed Beef: http://www.americangrassfedbeef.com/

*I’m leaning towards this vendor due to the volume pricing, but unlike the other three, I wasn’t able to find many reviews or comments on quality.

Seafood:
Vital Choice: http://www.vitalchoice.com/shop.cfm?kbID=1287

Other Meats:
Blackwing Quality Meats: http://www.blackwing.com/

Fruits & Vegetables:
Probably not too cost-effective, but would appreciate any suggestions. I’m not too thrilled with the quality at the local markets these days.

Anything else?

For strict quality, don't forget Trader Joe's.

I've ordered from Slanker's a couple of times, and I love it. The meat is great, and their service is wonderful. The first time I called, I talked to one of the owners for about 15 minutes about the benefits of the Paleo diet. I was impressed with his friendliness and enthusiasm, so much so that I haven't ordered from anywhere else... unfortunately, that means I can't really say how they compare to other places.

Thanks for the responses!

Steve: I don't know much about Trader Joe's so I actually didn't consider them at first. Their first store in NYC opened recently, so I'll definitely check them out now.

What I have in mind is pretty much anything free-range/grassfed that I can save a bit of money via volume discounts, since a group of us at CrossFit NYC are interested in combining purchases. Just beef for now, but we may look into other foods.

Travis: Thanks very much for your review as well. Looks like I can't go wrong with Slanker's either.

http://www.eatwild.com/products/newyork.html

http://www.realmilk.com/where4.html#ny if you want raw dairy

Trader Joe's has grassfed beef (at least around here) and REALLY inexpensive Alaskan pink salmon (canned) which has bones in it (YUM!). They also sometimes have things like raw cocoa powder during the winter, some good sauces, the cheapest flowers in town (at least around here), etc.

Where in NY are you? I know some herbalists out that way, and they will know where the closest good yummy wild edibles are...lambsquarter, amaranth, purslane... red root tea...CATTAIL!! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!! New Jersey has some of my favorite wild edibles... and of coure NY country would likely have the same.

Yael,
Thanks so much for those links! Just what I was looking for. Looks like I'll be splurging on some raw dairy too.

I'm currently in Manhattan, btw.

That site is awesome and his photo on the main page is priceless. I'm seriously considering going on one of his tours in Central Park to see what I can pick up and eat on the way home.

I'm all about saving money (while remaining healthy) these days!

I like the US Wellness site... buy in bulk and you can get ground beef (75% fat) for less than 5 bucks a pound.
