Hey all....

New girl in vermont! I am a firefighter interested in functional fitness, I have been the bodybuilding route (liked the look but thats about all it was) More recently I have been doing bodyweight training and my 5th WOD today...they have been scaled a little...reps are there methods and weights are different. I don't know a darn thing about olympic lifting.

Wanted to know if the closest crossfit facility is in Manchester, NH?

Is it worth it to me to make the 2 hour trip there for some training?

does it involve appointments etc?

Are there any other Crossfitters in VT or NH in my situation?

I would love to hear from ya!
Happy working out!

Any other relevent information would be great!

Welcome Niki,
I'm near Keene NH which is farther for you than Manchester.

I'm moving this post to the Community section, where the "looking for other CrossFitters" posts go.

David Wilson runs the Crossfit NH facility in Manchester and is doing a great job. He does work by appointment and has been very helpful in working on my technique for o-lifting, squatting, deadlifting and benching. I also get a lot of tips from him on the various exercises and movements of the WODs. Give him a call and see what works, I can definately recc'd him.

hi niki
i live in weathersfield vt about an hour or so from you in rutland. i workout in my basement and on my lawn.
i have watched endless clips on the xfit site and others on snatch and c&j and started with a wood dowel and moved up.
there is a forum where you can post videos of your lifting technique and there seems to be a quick response.
i have no experience with the manchester nh facility but maybe i will get down there some day since it is about 1.5 to 2 hours away for me.
good luck
