Well as I read somewhere recently -- if you need straps to do a 600 pound dead lift, then you can't do a 600 pound dead lift. And if you need gloves to do over 100 pullups then you can't do 100 pullups.

Matthew,
Bad analogy.Do you know how a strap works? Now if you used a strap to do 100 pullups you would be assisting.Wearing gloves is not much different than using chalk they both help you hang on,all I'm saying is they don't prevent callouses and ,at least for me,they prevent,so far,any rips. For the record I can do 100 pullups with or without gloves all day long.

Re: The gloves/no gloves debate

There is a site we were made aware of by being nominated reviewing the latest crossfit gloves. The Glove Review has pretty in depth information and a good resource tool for those wanting to do a bit research in gloves for crossfit. Glove Review Crossfit Gloves

Hope this helps

^^ Cool, but just start another thread rather than reviving old dead threads.

Blair, everyone can tell you want this thread buried because you don't have big manly calloused hands. Hiding them in your pockets won't disguise anything.

Re: The gloves/no gloves debate

Of course I don't have big manly hands. I'm 5'1". I sure as hell can't palm a basketball with them.

TBH, I miss those shorts. They were ****ing awesome and I have no idea what happened to them.

They are probably not very manly either because I like a bar with a smooth knurl like a ZKC bar instead of what I think is a CAP bar at the Oly club at the JuCo I train at.

Besides what kind of gymnast want callouses? That's why I'm actually was a men's rhythmic gymnast so I could dance around with other dudes on the floor and wave ribbons around.

Some parts are kind of cool but the Men's gymnastics coach in me finds this an abomination.
