Thought I'd officially say hi. Discovered CF in Men's Journal article in December and I've attempted most of the WOD's since then. I just can't say enough about the site, the Glassmans' generosity, and the spirit I've found in the community here on I'm pretty much a typical washed-up ex-jock, 46 years old and trying to hang on. As someone with a gymnast's size and a chessmaster's strength I learned the lesson about scaling early simply by reading and searching the site (a significant fact given the unfortunate tone in today's WOD comments--the info is ALL there for the taking for everyone). I'm forced to alter the 3 and 1 schedule a bit to fit work, but man, it's all good!

I have one of those great days professionally tomorrow that each of us gets as a gift every now and again. But truthfully, as cool as my day is going to be, what I'm really pumped about is that when I'm done tomorrow I get to do Linda!

Pass the Kool-Aid...if you'll have me, I'm in.

Welcome, Darrell. Come one, come all. If you're up for a rowdy discussion or two you'll fit in fine here! ;)

Lots of folks alter the schedule (me included) to fit their daily lives. The magic is not in the numbers, it's in the Intensity, Functionality and Variation. Mix it up. It's all good.

Darrell, welcome to CrossFit!
Aaahh 46, not a bad age to be.
You'll have fun here with this crowd and get really fit, too.

Thanks folks! It's inspiring and humbling to see what I have to look forward to. So far I've mostly just received good things from CF. My hope is to be able to contribute as well.

Off to do Linda!

Darrell appreciate your gymnast size. You'll be able to scale up well and the chessmaster's strength will be changed in no time. You'll have fun with the gymnastic componants of CF.

Welcome to the forum and to Crossfit Darrell. You'll know when to hit the Big Dawg WOD.
