Ok, I'm currently 20 yrs old, 6'1". 193 lbs and in decent shape. I have a very fast metabolism so my diet has never been very strict ("see food" for the most part). However, I feel this needs to change as I want to push my physical limits as much as possible. I've been continuously reading on these forums about the "Zone" diet and the "Paleo" diet. Are they separate diets or do they go hand in hand? Would it be a good idea for me to try either of these? Can someone give me a reference to where I can read about them in depth? I'm a little apprehensive because whenever I see the word "diet" I automatically think weight loss and if anything I want to gain weight. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. THX!

Benjamin, I am 21, 6'1" and weigh 175lbs. I am also a college student. I follow the Paleo diet because I don't have to (and don't want to) deal with measuring food. I also have a very high metabolism. Paleo is great for me because I can eat plenty of good and healthy food. I just found the Paleo diet to work great with my lifestyle and easy to follow with an erratic and hectic lifestyle. Check out http://www.thepaleodiet.com/ for more info. Link is w/f safe. I always feel good after my meals, which is what I think is the most important. Hope this information helps.

They are separate diets, Zone being more of an "eating plan" (when to eat and how much), while Paleo dictates food type & quality. Many CFers combine the two- Paleo food at Zone quantities & times.

BTW there is an IF component to what I outline so just ignore it if you want.
