Re: 385 lb. Overhead Squat

Nice work!

Even hold the composure to re-rack the weight, very nice.

Re: 385 lb. Overhead Squat

first off super impressive...secondly, so that was more of a c&j grip overhead squat, so now what my question is, how big is his snatch grip overhead squat, is it the same, cant imagine its more...

Re: 385 lb. Overhead Squat

Wish I hadn't of tossed my high school days away by spending them at the arcades, and instead had been in the weight room. lol

Anyways, very impressive, learn the lifts asap.

Re: 385 lb. Overhead Squat

That is awesome and ridiculously impressive. Well done Darian, must respect!

I am not trying to take anything away from Darian and his awesome feat but it is interesting that I just read the following, which happened today in the Olympics.

Lu Xiaojun
Age ?
Body Weight 77kg (169 lbs?)
Snatch 385 lbs.

Re: 385 lb. Overhead Squat

Jeremy, you should put together a compilation of Darian's lifts over the years one of these days.

What sports has he been competing in? I remember you saying he competed in powerlifting.

He's been training for 7 years now and competed in powerlifting/strongman from age 15-17. He currently holds 24 records in powerlifting with 3 different federations in 3 age/weight classes.

He's also competed in:
Baseball
Football
Wrestling
Tennis
Gymnastics
and Swimming.

He's pretty well rounded and likes to keep his training the same. Always mixing up things in his training, working on his weaknesses and always trying to improve his strengths.

You can always Google or Youtube Darian Barnett to see all his videos. Plenty of cool stuff to check out.

We'll post his 400 lb. Overhead Squat in a couple of weeks when he tests it.
