Tried for a new 1rm and hit 535 lbs yesterday @ 180 lbs body weight. 20 pound PR. Pretty stoked about it.

Re: List your max 1RM deadlift and weight!

215 lbs, 5'10", 1RM is currently 405. Would have been higher by now, as I easily make gains when anything lower body is involved; but had left shoulder surgery in May so that held me up.

Re: List your max 1RM deadlift and weight!

So I am at 15 pounds over body weight. 300 lb deadlift and I weigh 285 lbs. I think I can get a little more but I need to upgrade my OLY bar to hold more than 300 lb.

355lb at 170lb Bodyweight, 44 years old. Not great but compared to 8 months ago, I'm happy with it.

Just curious of others' experience. (and I'm sure it varies greatly)

How much should using wrist wraps increase you 1 RM DL or conversely, how much is normal to lose off your 1 RM with wraps if you do not use them?

Re: List your max 1RM deadlift and weight!

For me, wrist wraps don't do squat, because the D/L doesn't cause any stress. Front squats and the like, however, is another matter. (So technically, I guess they actually DO, in fact, do 'squat.' lol)

Do you mean "wraps" Or "straps" because there is a big difference. Using straps will help a little or a lot depending on if grip is your failure point on deads....it's all relative. Either way, avoid using straps on deads....

As for wraps, some people use them but I've never asked why. I don't see the point.....
