Nick's WOD Log

Today I am starting a benchmark log. I completed Cindy today for the first time! I'm no longer a Cindy Virgin - that is if you count blue band pull ups. I did 10+15 in 20 min.

Re: Nick's WOD Log

Starting in February I am going to complete 1 WOD of the three with partial bunker gear. I'm thinking just boots and pants. Any other firefighters try this? Your suggestions?

Re: Nick's WOD Log

Yesterdays WOD:
Clean & Jerks - AMPRAP 2 Min
2 Min Rest
90 Singles
10 Thrusters
2 Min AMRAP
2 Min Rest
10 KBS
10 Box Jumps
2 Min AMRAP

Clean & Jerk: 95lbs 10 reps
1 Round Singles and Thrusters (65lbs)
1 + 7 35lb dumbbell 26" Box

Went into WOD with pretty sore quads...
Didn't feel too bad post WOD. Worked on Squat cleans for about 10 min post WOD at 95 lbs to practice form stuff.
Feel pretty good this morning, but I didn't want to wake up at 6am.

Re: Nick's WOD Log

2/6/12 WOD:
Partner WOD

35 Man Makers
75 Situps
100 Squats
300 Singles
100 Lunges
75 Burpees
40 Pullups

With a DNF of 45 minutes.

Completed in 38 minutes. I also wore structure fire gloves for the man makers and the pullups. That really worked the grip. I also performed my pushups with a close hand position directly under my arm pits and elbows tight. I had never done this before and I could definately feel it through my shoulders and core. On a few of the burpees I tried exploding up with my pushup (hands leaving the floor) and then kicking my feet forward to transition faster. That was much more difficult for me and wore me out quickly.
Great workout! I didn't sleep well last night, but not because of the WOD. I feel a bit of stiffness this morning. All in all though I feel great!

Re: Nick's WOD Log

2/9/12 WOD:
Team Diane -
21-15-9
DL & HSPU

Performed weight at 115 lbs. This was too light I think. I probably could have gone about 25 lbs heavier. Good indicator of improvment for me! Completed with a time of 11:50.
Team Diane was done where 1 person completed 1 set of DL then the other person, then both moved to that rounds HSPU. This gave a small break between DL and HSPU. All in all, I felt good and still feel good. Slight soreness in my glutes and shoulders but thats it!

Re: Nick's WOD Log

Got a bit behind in logging these...

2/13/12
WOD:
AMPRAP 20 Min
5 DL - Go Light
7 Burpees
10 Burpee Pull-ups
20 Sec Plank

My DL was at 145lbs. I completed 5 rounds in 20 minutes! I did the burpee pull-ups without a band. I know that I was jumping into the pull-up so that helped, but I was still pleased.
My meal plan for this day was nothing except for a packet of sardines for lunch and of course dinner after the WOD. I hadn't planned for this IF, but it still worked for me anyways.

Re: Nick's WOD Log

2/15/12
WOD:
Work up to a heavy Jerk
then
3 Jerks
9 HR Push-ups
15 Barbell Front Rack Lunges
5 rounds for time

Jerk weight was 115lbs and lunge weight was 45lbs.
Completed all rounds in 12:00 minutes.

I felt completely good after this workout. I ate crap for post workout and this morning I am dehydrated and downing the water. My stomach is cursing me at the moment for submitting to the pizza cheat. It was so good until this morning...
