Hi guys! I've been doing CF now for almost 2 years. I love the program! But couple of weeks ago I had a painful back injury while doing deadlifts. My doctor said it was just a muscle spasm but the weakness on my lower back stayed for 2 weeks now. My physical therapist friend said, after checking me out, i tore a ligament inside my SIJ or the ligament that holds the pelvic bone and the spine (i think).

Can i still do deadlifts with lower weight? Or should i do other exercises to rahabilitate it for a while? If so, any suggestions on what kind of lower body exercise i should do for rehabilitation? I cant afford to stop doin the WODs but I want to take it slowly since i injured my lower back any help would be appreciated a lot thanks

By the way i also feel the weakness on my lower back or somewhere in my hip when i do knees to elbows and when i do kipping pull ups. Did anybody experience the same injury?

The SIJoint is the joint that connects your pelvis to your spine, so your right on there. This is hard to advise not knowing how torn the ligament is. If your going to continue to deadlift you should definately decrease the weight for a while to let any inflammation decrease and make sure that is all that is going on. I am suprised your PT friend did not give you exercises to help stabilize that area. Our practice uses variations of back bridges to stabilize the pelvic region with focus on transverse abdominis and pelvic muscles.
