I went out and bought myself a 300lb Oly bar/plate set tonight.

I held out for a long time, but after using Crossfit North's setup last Saturday, I can't lift another day without a real Oly bar.

The wider grip and distribution of the weight really does make a difference.

Awesome Nic! I'm thinking about doing the same soon. Where did you buy them from?

I just went to G.I. Joe's and they had a $139.00 package deal.

After looking at weight sets online all day, I became convinced that a decent set from the sporting goods store was my best bet (no shipping).

Patrick,
Sears has some decent ones with rubber bumpers on the edges, and one set that is completely rubber coated. Prices are not to bad, and if it breaks, well, its Sears, take it back.
