Re: Progenex FLOW

While we're on flavors... out of any protein I have ever had - this is the best tasting to me!

Re: Progenex FLOW

Progenex and Nitrean are the best tasting protein powders I've ever had.

The worst was ON Casein Cookie Dough. GNC dropped off samples at our gym the other day and I literally wanted to puke, couldn't even finish it.

My friend gets his ON from Amazon in bulk but said the chocolate on wasn't half bad. Which means it wasn't really good and it was tolerable. In the past I was pretty much always got Vanilla flavored protein products unless I picked up some MuscleMilk on the go (and switched between choco and vanilla).
It's been a little while since I've had ON double chocolate but I'd say they are comparable in flavor. I might prefer the dutch chocolate a little bit, but I would buy whatever one is cheaper. I was happy to try out Nitrean when Chris had the 40% off sale going. I think it came out to cheaper than ON. If there was no sale I'd probably buy the ON. Also the Nitrean contains other types of protein besides whey if that matters

Re: Progenex FLOW

Tried it at the Games this weekend.

I was warned beforehand that it's pretty gross. But being the idiot that I am sometimes, I have to see things for myself. Verdict... they were right. It's nasty. I pretty much got instant fish burps as soon as I got it down. It doesn't smell particularly awesome either.

Does it smell/taste like full on fish? no... but it sure as hell didn't taste like "Island Punch" to me, either. But I guess if you REALLY feel the need to get a protein source from something other than Whey then go for it.

But on taste alone, I'm going to pass. Plus I like ALN way better anyway.

Re: Progenex FLOW

I use Trutein lately as I have enjoyed their flavors and there is no hiding the ratio of their protein blend.

Heard some talk of Progenex was was thinking about trying, priced similar to ALN (which is popular on the board). It seems ALN does a lot of pre-orders, so based on pricing and availablity to Progenex they are within $ of each other (excluding ALN sales).

Re: Progenex FLOW

Progenex you can 30 servings of whey for 59.95 or 30 of their protein+BCAA for 69.96. Recovery has 22g of protein/serving and Muscle has 30g.

With Nitrean, you get 70 and it has 5g of Leucine while Progenex has unstated amounts of BCAA ( probably 5g in total of the 3 maybe 10 but doubtful as they it has 20% more than whey normally does ). 23g of protein. It's mostly whey as Chris stated his mixture %. I thought it was 77% Whey but I don't remember if that was just Whey Concentrate or total Whey.

Shipping is probably less with Progenex since it's smaller.

30 servings, 70 servings.

I'm sure some people have some Progenex codes. Chris offers 20-30%. That means $44-50. Recently free shipping which is some nice change as well.

So if you adjust the servings of Nitrean to equal Progenex More Muscle, you get say 60.

60 >30

BTW Chris I got it last night. I do enjoy the dutch chocolate flavor a lot, thanks!

You are welcome, I am glad you like it. Just an FYI too that Nitrean+ is a much more expensive to produce blend than the ON product you mentioned. My point only being even at the regular price it is a REALLY good deal.
