"interesting" shoulder issue...

So I was diagnosed with severe inflammation/tendonitis in my right rear deltoid about 5 weeks ago. During my follow-up last week, my doc (let me add here that I'm in the Army) decided that since I wasn't already completely better, I needed a cortizone injection...because the Army doesn't like to wait very long for healing. 48 hours after the injection, I'm feeling the best I have in a month, probably about 85-90%. Mind you, I took that entire period off from any pulling, to get good rest on the shoulder.

This morning at PT, there are some pullups. I decided I would give it a go, maybe do a few and see how I feel, take it slow and easyf. I knock out 5, and when I'm done, I feel just a little soreness. I held an easy cross-body stretch, then put my arm into parade rest behind my back...something felt odd, so I kept my hand stable and extended my elbow further backward...felt a crunch in the rear shoulder, then an audible pop, and since then my shoulder feels awesome, like I never injured it in the first place.

Thoughts?!

Re: "interesting" shoulder issue...

Since cortisone masks the pain I would be wary about anything "feeling better" being actually better.

It's possible that you broke up some scar tissue which would be excellent.

But a crunch and a pop could also be something tearing that you probably wouldn't want tearing.

Make sure you train right and do proper rehab for your shoulder. Remember, cortisone masks the pain but DOES NOT improve healing.

Don't go buck wild and do proper rehab work still
