startin with a poem here

kicking off my workout log with a poem.

--vulnerable: a poem--

the storm is coming, and I have been waiting.
windows and walls, tents and tarps....

i can't be boxed in.

thunder's cracking, trees are snapping, flashes blind
the heavens open, the ocean pours, and a single thought arises:
it has been too long.
wave after wave:
pouring, freezing, crushing, smashing
i am not cold.
i drink of the storm, and wonder how I could have been so thirsty for so long.
the wind arrives. my arms, held high, welcome it.
lightning and thunder have never scared me, and my familiar friends are back at last.
the parts of the false self I held on to for so long have been washed away. i have let go. the masks are gone, the walls are crushed, and i realize the truth:

there is no other way
