Re: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Tamara's log

Thats great Tamara! When its fun and you look forward to going back weight seems lighter, time passes by quicker, more work gets done. Nothing bad ever comes out of having fun while training!

I just hope you showed the bar and the weight the proper amount of hate while you were training! Weight deserves to be hated!

Well, I got yelled at yesterday for Not Doing The Effing Program because I was doing too much volume on snatches. It's not that I was trying to eff up the program. It's just a NEW PROGRAM, and I haven't quite figured it out. Today, I had the exact numbers I needed to hit written down, and I did just that.

My snatches felt great, and I ended up with more volume and more total weight on squats. That made me happy.

Re: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Tamara's log

7/20/11

Squat:
1 x 70 kg
1 x 75 kg
1 x 80 kg
1 x 80 kg
1 x 80 kg

These felt heavier than yesterday except for the last rep.

Power snatch:
2 x 25 kg
2 x 30 kg
2 x 35 kg
2 x 30 kg
1 x 35 kg

Clean pulls:
1 x 55 kg
2 x 60 kg
2 x 65 kg
2 x 65 kg
2 x 70 kg
2 x 70 kg

This was NOT what I was supposed to do. I was supposed to do 3 sets at 70, not 2 at 65 and 2 at 70. But, I was distracted and loaded the bar wrong and didn't notice until after the second set at 65.

Snatch grip behind the neck push jerk:
2 x 25 kg
2 x 35 kg
2 x 40 kg
1 x 45 kg
1 x 50 kg

A good training day. BUT, I am going to have to get more sleep.

I am going to bed before 9:00 pm tonight.

And, yes, I am squatting every day now. We shall see how that works. I think it shall work well.

Re: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Tamara's log

I love squats lately. I don't think I could squat every day. I'd have to cut back on everything else to do that. I'm trying to keep it at atleast twice a week. I have been watching a few people squatting every day and wonder if it is worth it? Will I gain form it or burnout.

I'm not telling you it is wrong, I'm still trying to understand it. If it is worth wile I may do it too.

Well, at the moment, I am doing what Jim Moser and Rip tell me to do. I will be going to Wichita Falls to train with the two of them the third weekend of August. So, I am going to stick with this programming until then before I reevaluate anything.

Todays's workout was the same as Tuesday except I went to 60 kg on my last BTN jerk. While I am tired and hungry at the moment, the training session was totally fine. Lots of squats. I didn't die. Yet.

Re: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Tamara's log

7/21/11

Squat:
2 x 70 kg
2 x 75 kg
1 x 80 kg
2 x 75 kg
1 x 80 kg

Dan said, "Well, that one was really fast." I said, "I hope so. It's only 80 kg."

Snatch:
1 x 25 kg
1 x 30 kg
1 x 35 kg
1 x 40 kg

Clean pulls:
2 x 60 kg
2 x 70 kg
2 x 75 kg
2 x 75 kg

Even if I am not doing these exactly how I am supposed to be doing them, they felt a lot lighter than Tuesday.

Squat:
1 x 70 kg
1 x 75 kg
1 x 80 kg
1 x 85 kg
2 x 80 kg
2 x 80 kg

Legs were tired, I was tired, but these were fine.

Behind the neck jerk:
2 x 50 kg
2 x 50 kg
2 x 55 kg
1 x 55 kg
1 x 60 kg

This wasn't what I was supposed to do today, but the internet decided to suck, so I just went with the plan from Tuesday. Lots of squats again. This is several days in a row of squatting, and even though my legs felt tired, squats were totally fine. My biggest issue now is sleep. I know this.

Re: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Tamara's log

7/22/11

Squat:
5 x 20 kg
2 x 50 kg
1 x 60 kg
2 x 70 kg
2 x 80 kg
1 x 75 kg
1 x 85 kg

85 was a little slow, but still solid. And, this is my sixth day of squatting in a row.

Power snatch:
1 x 25 kg
2 x 30 kg
1 x 35 kg
1 x 40 kg
1 x 35 kg
1 x 40 kg

All fine. Nothing to write home about, but no problems.

Clean high pull:
2 x 35 kg
1 x 55 kg
1 x 65 kg
4 x 75 kg
4 x 75 kg
4 x 75 kg
4 x 75 kg

Haha. I really laughed when I saw this. It was not super fun, and I was very out of breath. But, I managed to hit myself in the boobs on multiple reps, so I think I pulled the crap out of 75 kg.

Behind the neck push jerk:
1 x 50 kg
2 x 60 kg
2 x 65 kg
2 x 70 kg - NOT happening. Barely got the first rep off my shoulders. So...
2 x 60 kg
2 x 65 kg - The first one wasn't too pretty, but it went overhead.

I was supposed to do 2 x 2 x 70 kg. Instead of beating myself up about it, I just went back down and hit 60 and 65.

I feel pretty good for 6 days in a row, but I think a rest day would be nice.

Thats a $#!+ load of squatting! Especially at that weight! Go heavy or go home, right!

How are you feeling after all of that? If you go for day 7, remember - dont go toward the light!
