Re: ***** Kimbo Bring On Brock

I think if you put together wrestling and submission's you get some of the best fighters around. Jake Shields, Gilbert Melendez, Randy Coture has had some submissions. The control of your opponent you learn through wrestling I think is invaluable.
As for Brock? I think he could he could be unstoppable and as of right now I dont see anybody stopping him from taking them down if he wants to take them down. He is to strong and quick. Now once he is down is he likely to be submitted? Sure but only by some of the best sub guys around I think. I think Lesnar would hold Kimbo on his back and beat him until he crys.

Thats my point though, if a much smaller, older Randy can do that to a vetera UFC fighter like Sylvia, what chance does Kimbo have against a fighter of similar skills, who's the same age, and is actually bigger and stronger.

None. Kimbo is little more than a slugger, evidenced by his fight with Thompson. If you put him on the ground, he's lost. Lesnar would annihilate him utterly.

Don't hate on someone because of a loss to Randy Couture. I think that in a cage, Randy would probably beat Fedor Emelianenko. He's one of the all time greats in the sport, regardless of his age.

I was just trying to say that I think people overrate Frank Mir and underrate Tim Sylvia. I know it's off the original topic of the thread, but I just couldn't stand someone calling Mir one of the greatest champs of all time. That moniker belongs to those who have proven it with title defenses, not those who may or may not have had the potential in the eyes of so called experts to be one of the greatest. In any sport, greatness is measured by accomplishment, not potential.

My 2 cents...

I think it's hard to judge how great Mir could have been since he almost died in a motorcycle accident.

I do, I often wonder how Superman would do if he learned BJJ.

He'd dominate every division until he had to drop to lightweight, where he would lose to BJ Penn
