What do most of you do for a warmup?

Just wondering what the best warm-up is. I've read a couple threads that I can't find anymore and most of them were just doing dips, pull ups and sit ups. What warm up do you do on the days that consist of those exercises? Thanks!

It answers it in the FAQ's.

A good amount of stuff involving samson stretch, squats with overhead broomstick, situps, back extensions, dips and pullups.

Let us know if you still can't find it.

Re: What do most of you do for a warmup?

Since Oct 2005, we perform the CrossFit warm-up. Samson, stretch, air squats, abmat sit-ups, back extensions, push-ups, dips and pull-ups. Upon entry, all of our clients perform 3 rounds of the warm-up.

It is simple, efficient and effective.

Re: What do most of you do for a warmup?

Bike to the gym, general loosening up (walking around, swinging my arms, maybe some MMA warmups like knee strikes, shaking out my extremities and my neck), some goblet squats and overhead squats from the bottom up, and usually a barbell and/or dumbbell complex (5-6 exercises that flow into each other, 6 reps per exercise with no rest, same low weight for all of them).

If I'm in a hurry, I skip the complexes but not the other stuff. Tried the CFWU once, but I just couldn't get into it...wasn't enjoying getting ready as much as I do with my custom warmup. Then again, I've been working out for years, so I already know what gets me warmed up and ready...the CFWU is a good starting point as any, and if you have trouble with any parts of it you can ask about it here.

CFWU, but modified so that I can do it in my dorm room (back extensions and situps are on a "ghd" consisting of my chair seat as a pelvic platform with me feet under my desk surface; no pullups, but hanging rows under my desk, dips between two chairs with feet elevated). It works.

2-3x5 CFWU. Plus additional mobility and activation(hip bridges, prone scorpions, leg swings, dislocates etc).

I change it around as much as possible just like the WOD. One day it is the CFWU another day it is a mix of pullups, jump rope, dips, situps, pullups, and overhead squats, another day it is light stretching with light amounts of cardio thrown in there. Always different. Always fun. Never boring with the same old routine.

Bike to gym, loosen up, maybe row a bit, hobble around crying in fear, do some WoD-appropriate movements with light weight (bar or stick or whatever), then get into it.

I have a hard time really exerting myself, since I know I'm going to be needing all of that stuff in a few minutes.

Re: What do most of you do for a warmup?

I am liking rowing as a warmup. I do a 2K.

If rowing is in the WOD, I might warmup with a 1 mile run or 5 min. on the spin bike.
