When you want to gain weight, if you normally struggle with it, just eat. It actually is that simple.

And, none of the fighters I know can rely on fighting for a living. Fighting for a living is a dream- you're either at the top of the world and in a truly elite bracket, or you're training on your own dollar, in your own time, even if you get paid to compete. There are almost literally no athletes who are full-time athletes in NZ, including fighters, and even our rugby teams.

I put on 20lbs within a couple of months, without significant change to body composition. Many of my calories came from McDonalds or Carl's Jr. I wasn't even doing much conditioning at the time- maybe once a week. I was just lifting every day, and focusing on rehabbing my shoulder. If you want to gain weight quickly, and you've struggled with it before, you gotta eat. If you still aren't gaining, you aren't eating enough, and having calorie-dense foods makes that easier; even if they aren't as "good for you".

TL;DR: I did what I said, ate like a pig, turned out fine.
