Web site info

I am in the process of starting up a CrossFit gym and was wodering about the web site. I noticed all the affiliates have similar web pages. Is this someting we go thorough CrossFit to do or design on our own and just choose to make similar to the CrossFit homepage. Thanks for any help.

Chris,

There isn't any preferred website or provider for the affillates. A lot of the affilliate sites look similar because they are using the same software / hosting. CrossFit Clarksville uses the free site Blogger so you'll notice it resembles several other affiliates.

Other affiliates purchase their own domain names, have web designers create their sites and give themselves a unique look that is different than any other affiliate. CrossFit North doesn't look anything like CrossFit Ann Harbor yet both are excellent affiliate sites.

Rick, A lot of us use typepad.com. Look up lisa at CrossFit SanDiego. She designed my site as well as many others at a reasonable rate. The great thing about typepad is that it's pretty easy to update it yourself. Drop me an emai if you have any questions.

I've been with Dreamhost for about 6 years. I'm very happy with them as my host. I do design myself in Dreamweaver. I use Moveabltype to host my own blog. The installer has become much easier over the years. MT is what crossfit.com uses to run their blog too.

We use wordpress and it does the job.
