DIY Reverse Hyper for Rogue S2

After doing some research on these forums and other sites, I came up with a DIY reverse hyper for my Rogue S2 (Bill feel free to use my design just shoot me one when you weld it up... ). It rests on safety spotter arms and is secured with pins so it is going nowhere. Side plate storage to keep the rig from rocking (410# of bumpers sure helps). I don't plan on loading it super heavy, at least not for awhile while I rehab an injury. Plus I don't know really how much the safety spotters can hold with a somewhat dynamic load. I remember reading on the Rogue site that they were tested for 700# but that is a static load. Seems rock solid.

I have padding and vinyl, just trying to figure out how best to use it. While it would look more finished if I covered the entire top platform, it might mess with the grip because I grab the sides of the platform. Two inches of padding would definitely make it more difficult to hold. The entire pad doesn't need to be covered really. I've got enough material so we'll see what happens... I might shorten the top platform and rig up some handles instead.

I see that Rogue is coming out with a reverse hyper that attaches to the R3 - not sure if it will work on the S-series. Looks a little nicer than mine: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater (wfs)

However I paid about $100 for my DIY setup - I'm assuming the Rogue version will be a little more expensive (but obviously way better quality). You can go even cheaper than I did by using smaller diameter pipe for the swing arm assembly, using some scrap lumber laying around the garage, etc. Throw an old camping pad on there as well instead of DIY padding/vinyl cover.

Good job on that! Is it stable? Care to write up the DIY? I have a different rack but will adjust the measurements.

Re: DIY Reverse Hyper for Rogue S2

Okay, went with the full padded top. Turned out pretty good. I think it looks better fully padded.

I will post instructions/dimensions/etc. In the meantime, you can go here to see where I based my design off of:

Oh and it is totally stable - again, I have 410# of bumper plates stored on the rack so it doesn't move much if at all.

And I already have a GHD, just no room for a reverse hyper (nor do I want to pay as much as they cost).
