5-Hour Energy

Does anybody use this stuff? I've been tempted on occasion, but it has that "too-good-to-be-true"- thing going - in a creepy, snake oil kind of way.

Herbs! Caffeine! Vitamins! Magic Elixir!

I tried it once, it made my stomach hurt. Never again.

My friends swear by it... on nights they go big drinking. Say it keeps them up and going strong all night long, and less hungover in the morning.

The one time I tried it (for same reason), it didn't do a damn thing. Maybe I was able to drink more for longer - which was not a good thing. Still had a raging hangover the next day.

I'd say skip it.

Re: 5-Hour Energy

I'd say skip it, there's better ways to get energy and I'm personally a bit au-naturelle so I say avoid processed chemical drinks really. Me I'm 22 [probably an advantage] and I NEVER need caffeine for energy. Only time I consume caffeine is an energy drink on long drives down the highway/freeway [like an hour long trip].

Re: 5-Hour Energy

I use that and the 7-hr, also, the extra strength. It's gentler on my stomach, and seems to not have a crash. It is artificially sweetened, so, it's not natural.

Re: 5-Hour Energy

I guess I don't notice a crash from caffeine because it has a lesser effect on me and I'm usually soming down off an energy drink just before bed.

Re: 5-Hour Energy

I used to use it before my workouts...bad idea. Always ended up with me puking my guts out in the parking lot.

Re: 5-Hour Energy

I would avoid if possible. I tried it one time, and since I'm not a big caffeine drinker in the first place, I wasn't ready for how sickeningly sweet it was. Have you ever had something so sweet it locked your jaw and made your ear hurt? That was this stuff for me. Tasted absolutely horrible and I fell asleep anyway.
