i dont know about Vertical jump but theres a guy at the box that can jump on a 24in. box with 10-45# plates on it. Each plate is supposedly 3in. for a total of 54in. He's probably about 5'10"-5'11". We thought that was pretty impressive. How much are those vert measuring devices? Be cool to have.

Most gyms have PVC, and the stuff isn't expensive. I'm sure you could come up with something on the cheap. This guy did:
