Re: Pre Workout

Altius is legit, but man, over 300mg of caffeine per serving.

I would have to be training for games to take such an amount of caffeine, to be honest.

Re: Pre Workout

It all depends on how much caffeine you are used to.

A few months ago I was training on anywhere from 2-400 before going in, now I'm doing fine on 100mg right after I wake up. I just pop the caffeine ASAP after I wake up.

There is also OTC supps and TBH, after a workout I don't even feel stimulated anymore.

Re: Pre Workout

slight OT question, how long does it take to "widraw" from caffeine addiction and how long to develop one? Lets assume high dosages of over 100mg are being used?

Re: Pre Workout

100mg doses are not even remotely high. Low does is considered 3mg/kg of BW and I want to say it goes up to 5 or 6? I have a buddy who regularly takes probably 4-600mg/day and nearly 1g on competition days. I've taken up to 1gram over time and it's pretty crazy.

In fact, just recently I went back to popping caffeine pills and for a few days I could feel how much stronger they were than coffee or redbull which was weird. Mind you, I was only popping 1 tablet of 100mg vs cup of coffee (60-120mg) or small can of redbull (80mg).

There is too many factors at play.

Withdrawal shouldn't take more than a few days in my experience but it's gonna really suck. Plan on not wanting to do jack. I know on days I go off, I'm a bit more lethargic. Sometimes, I'll drink some tea or coffee so I don't have to deal with the withdrawal symptoms but get far less.

No idea how long it takes to get used to or need a dose but I can feel it on the days I go off.

Re: Pre Workout

100 mg is basically nothing. I could wean off of that in a week no problem. My caffeine intake is currently 600 mg per day (three doses spread out) and I hardly notice it.

Re: Pre Workout

How's your sleep, Luke?

I'm back up to 100mg+ a Redbull zero these past few days mainly because I like Redbull but I'll probably just drink a small coke or coffee tomorrow and be back to just 100mg on Monday.

I seem to sleep better than when I was on 2-400mg awhile ago. I pretty much got by on a Redbull+ coffee every day while I was in LA loading at Master's Nationals that after a week I only needed one serving/day for 3 weeks.

Re: Pre Workout

It has been better for sure but not that bad, I don't take my last dose after 1:00 PM so it's not that bad. First dose is usually at 7:00 AM, second at 10:30 AM, third at 12:30-1:00 PM.

Before I did this I would easily drink an entire pot of pretty strong coffee in less than three hours (at least 400mg in that, probably closer to 600mg). I am also stacking with ephedrine though so this feels a good bit stronger than the coffee.

Quick question - ephedrine is this a legal substance in the US?

Re: Pre Workout

Yes, Ephedrine is OTC in the US. Commonly you'll see people using ECA-Ephedrine+Caffeine+Aspiring as a fatburning/energy stack.

Re: Pre Workout

Aspirin is not necessary and isn't really used anymore unless someone is going off of old information. And yep, completely legal and works great as long as you don't have any medical issues and/or issues with stimulants.
