Concept II Model B advice

I have a chance to buy a model B at a pretty good price. What are the advantages/disadvantages over the later models? What's a fair price? (It hasn't been used much, go figure)

Tony,
The main differences among models seem to be cosmetic, and the electronics. The "guts" are pretty standard.

You can upgrade many of the components; key upgrades would be in the electronic module. The C2 Site Service Info Page will give you the scoop.

I'd offer $250-500 bucks; but others may have better insight as to the cost.

Used C2's are scarce; if you aren't going to be facing shipping, jump on it!

My used concept2 model C cost $550 in September of this year. That was a good price so you can use that information as you see fit.

A model B isn't quite a sweet as a new one (the feel is a little different, and your times may also be), but they still work beautifully. If you can get it for $300 or less, and it's in good shape, I'd go for it.

Go to the Concept2 web page and see how to check the cumulative # of strokes, that way you could get an idea of how "used" the machine is (kind of like an odometer). Got mine, in great shape, for $600.

My gym doesn't have the C model, I think they have Bs.
They do not have the damper setting, so I'm not sure what they are equal to on the C.

Concept 2's don't lose their value very much and I actually prefer the "B" model over the newer "C" model. I bought a "C" model and the computer module is more advanced but I wouldn't say it's better. The "B" model is simpler to use and if the rower is like new, I'd say $500 bucks. You don't find many used Concept2's around.
