Congratulations on starting up! What goals are you shooting for by begining crossfit? Overall health improvement?

Re: Just did baseline!

Welcome to Crossfit! My husband and I started CF in July and we've seen a good bit of progress so far.

We ran a 5K a year ago and then ran the same one again today and my husband shaved off 6 minutes of his race time just by doing CF since July. I was able to run the entire race this year w/ no walk breaks....and I don't even run outside of my CF training! My lung capacity wasn't even taxed, my legs becoming fatigued were more of the limiting factor for me.

I feel more in shape overall since starting CF and my clothes are fitting better. It's so nice to have more clothes that I can fit into now than a month ago.

Keep at it - the first two weeks may be the worst in terms of soreness, but if you stick it out, it gets easier and the soreness gets better.

Let us know if you need encouragement and advice. The CF community is so supportive. Oh - and you may want to check into getting a CF Journal subscription ($25/yearly) - the articles and videos posted there are well worth the $25!

Re: Just did baseline!

I am training for a marathon, and need to re-build the strength training aspect of my workout. CrossFit seemed like the perfect addition, and hopefully will assist in powering through the 1/2 marathon and marathon I got coming up. Plus, who doesn't like something this challenging?
