Looking for Equipment

I graduated from the Air Force Academy back in May, and I'm currently stationed in Del Rio, Texas for pilot training. For the past three years, I've had access to CrossFit gyms with quality equipment--until now. The base here has a great gym, but it's not necessarily CrossFit friendly... no bumpers, no handstand pushups and absolutely NO chalk! I'm looking to transform my garage into a home gym, as I know many of you have. Any advice?

I'm looking for the basics... olympic lifting bar (love the rogue bar) and bumpers, kettle bells (1.5 and 2 pood), a rower and, especially, a GHD. I can build the platform and the boxes for box jumps, and I've already got rings and speed ropes. Does anyone have any advice on where to look for the equipment (new or used)? Do any products compare to those put out by Rogue Fitness?

Re: Looking for Equipment

Well, you have of course Rogue Fitness (WFS) and AgainFaster (WFS) the two figureheads in the equipment game that will no doubt have what you are looking for.

I would also give CrossBoxx (WFS) a look, they usually have some pretty great packages available and are a muscle driver/troy dealer. I have ordered from them a bunch of times now and all I can say is they have out of this world customer service.

As far as used stuff, Craigslist is the way to go. there are tons of deals to be had on there, just a matter of finding it at the right time. You will see thread upon thread on this board about gear snagged off CL. There are also the occasional For Sale threads posted on here, so just keep your eyes peeled.

good luck!

Thanks for the reply, Ron. I'll definitely continue looking into the sites and monitoring the for sale threads!
