"Annie" is now renamed "Fannie" in my book.

I did Annie last night at my affiliate here in North Florida. I could feel the rubberized floor rubbing my rear end as I cranked out the situps. Yet, by the time I got home and showered up, I realized that I had literally rubbed my rear end raw. It's no laughing matter. Ever try to put a bandage on your butt cheek? Envision one hand holding a handheld mirror to reflect the wounded image in the medicine cabinet mirror while trying to steady a bandage onto the abrasion.

So, any suggestions on how to avoid this in the future? Fannie wounded from Annie, AS.

Happenned to me ONCE! So I started doing GHD situps more often. But my affiliate has wrestling/tumbling mats that fix the problem too. There's a thread in the exercise section where someone mentioned using a yoga mat.

Another guy at my affiliate said his compression undershorts keep him from rubbing, but hasn't worked for me.

I had to do a gaggle of GHD situps the other day and when I got done my shins no longer had any hair on them and they stung like heck in the shower. So the GHD situps aren't without their abrasive dangers as well.

Are you doing AbMat situps by any chance? I was, and Fannie got me right good. Next time I'll do it with the AbMat on a towel.

I find that if I have on boxer briefs, compression shorts, and regular or board shorts over both I don't get that from doing Annie. A single layer less clothing = raw spot.
