Would you wear a t-shirt for an affiliate you've never visited?

The reason I ask is I was looking at the crossfitshirts.com (wfs) site and the shirt for crossfit WV is pretty cool with a big skull and crossbones on the back. I've never been there, and wasn't sure how I'd feel about wearing a shirt for an affiliate I've never visited. The Black and Gold CrossFit one is pretty cool too. Again, never been there. Of course, I need another t-shirt like I need a hole in the head, so this may be irrelevant anyways.

I know that there is an unwritten rule that you never wear a t-shirt for a race you've never done (running race, triathlon, etc.) that you didn't complete.

So, would you wear (or do you wear) a t-shirt for an affiliate you've never been to?

I think it's acceptable if:
A. you've swapped shirts with someone from the affiliate,
B. your significant other visited the affiliate and brought it back for you.

If you think it's swanky, buy it. Not only will you have a new favorite t-shirt, you'll be doing the affiliate the best kind of favor--giving them free advertising, as well as delicious money.

I personally would give a big kiss to any of the dozens of people who've bought our t-shirt without ever having stepped through our door. Thanks guys!

Yeah, I think it's cool. Wear the hell out of it, make a note to try to visit the place someday, then it'll be that much cooler having their shirt looking all ragged from all the WODs you've done with it.

I'm wearing one right now from Crossfit Coastal - bought it through a member on this board. Who says you have to have been there to wear it?

My favorite tshirt is from CrossFit Watertown. I've never been there, but Lizbeth Darsh was nice enough to give a free one out on the Girl Power thread awhile ago. If I'm ever in the area, I will definitely stop in!

I'm familiar with the race rule. With the power of the internet, you can order the T, then check that affiliate's site. Do that day's WOD (It IS cheating if you wait 'till a rest day) and then you will have "earned" that T shirt.

Yep, I plan on wearing my GIRL POWER t-shirt from California City A LOT, even though I'll be on the other side of the country for at least the next 3 years.

Yeah, I wear affiliate shirts all the time. If you like the shirt and/or you like the people who run that particular affiliate - go ahead and show your support.
