With fish oil (or Essential Fatty Acids in general, namely EPA and DHA, not flax oil's ALA):

Do your dosing by the EPA & DHA content--don't go by simple volumes (like a teaspoon or 6 pills).

For example, I use fish oil pills that have twice as much EPA & DHA in them as the Kirkland/Costco brand.

Go by the amount of "active" ingredients. I suggest people shoot for 2400 mg EPA+DHA total, 500 IU D, and 5000 IU A a day. In the stuff I use, that only requires 1.25 teaspoons of oil. Depending on the brand of CLO, these amounts may require up to a tablespoon of oil.

Carlson's is a good brand.

Don't shortchange your nutrition in this area...

As of a few weeks now I have been taking Biotest Flame out in the morning, 4 pills is 2,200mg of DHA and 880mg of EPA. In the evening I'm taking Omega/rx liquid one teaspoon is 1800mg EPA and 900mg of DHA.

How many capsules would you need to take to equal one teaspoon of liquid fish oil?

I know zone says 1/3tsp 'oil' = 3g fat, so would that mean you would need to take 9 capsules (w/ 1g fat)to equal 1tsp of fish oil?

The Zone Omega/RX capsules come in 2 sizes. The horse pills are 4 = 1 tsp of omega/rx. With the small capsules 8 = 1 tsp. The liquid omega/rx says 1 tsp is 4.5g of fat while the capsules say 1 dose is 4g of fat. Not sure why the difference.

I've read here that the amount of goodness in fish oil is so great that you should not even count it toward fat when measuring for the Zone.

Sounded a little hand-wavy to me, and was designed just to get people to take it with no excuses like "I've already had my fat allocation for this meal".
