Q on Pendlay Beg Routine

Trying to follow http://www.pendlay.com/A-Training-Sy...ers_df_90.html but I have a question. Under the variant work for Snatch + Clean it says for example

Clean Pull + H. Clean (Knee)
(2 +1) x 5

Does that mean I do 5 sets, first 2 reps are high pulls and the 3rd rep is a hang clean? Or that I do 2 sets of 5 reps clean pull and 1 set 5 reps hang clean?

Re: Q on Pendlay Beg Routine

I'd double check on his forum but I took it to mean:

2 high pulls + 1 hang clean = 1 rep

So it would be: high pull, high pull, hang clean and repeat 5 times.

The first one.

Each set is 2 clean pulls + 1 hang clean. The hang clean is specifically from below the knee.
