Re: Shogun vs Jones

Despite the fact that shogun may be dealing with a bit of ring rust... Do we really think that Jones is already at the level of Mauricio Shogun Rua?

Re: Shogun vs Jones

Great showing again from Jon Bones Jones. I thought Shogun had a pretty good chance against Jones but he got run through. Congrats to the youngest UFC champ, Jon Bones Jones.

Yes, yes we do....... I really like Shogun still and just think he also underestimated Jones.

Re: Shogun vs Jones

He is the Anderson Silva/GSP of 205. I'm nearly to the point of considering him P4P---but, lets let him hold the belt for a while first!!
Rashad is going to take a beating (and personally, I cant wait to watch!!!).

Holy . Ring rust or not, I think that answers that.

Re: Shogun vs Jones

Seriously, am I the only one who saw how bad Shogun looked from the bell???

Shoo, even Forrest Griffin beat Shogun when he came to fight looking like that! In both fights Shogun was coming out of knee surgery and looked like $#!!.

Bones is a fantastic fighter with great skills and the perfect frame, but I am not putting too much stock on his victory over Shogun. I couldn't stand the way Rogan & Goldberg were licking his ***** last night. Shogun made Bones look good, end of story.

In my book Jones still haven't beat a top LHW, besides a post-surgery Shogun. His run to the title has been easy! I still need to see him face a guy like Lyoto before I can start considering him a P$P great!

I somewhat agree with you on one item...

Yes, Shogun looked aweful. Maybe his crappy walkout music set the tone for his crappy performance. Like him or not, i'm assuming it's pretty damn hard to defend a title after almost a year without fighting due to injury.

However, Rogan and Goldberg were only hyping the new champion. Dude just became the youngest champ in UFC history, no small feat no matter who he had to fight. It is what it is so don't hate.

Lastly, who else should Jones have fought? I mean dude destroyed Ryan Bader, so who was left?

Rashad shouldn't have been in line for a title shot in the first place. Seriously? Dude beats up Rampage and he gets a title shot? Machida murdered Rashad and Shogun kicked the **** out of Machida's legs the first time and then murdered Machida in the second fight. Rashad is irrelevant.

My prediction is that LHW is going to be a boring division for a long time. I don't see Bones losing to anyone in the whole division.

I say that after GSP smokes Shields, GSP moves up to MW, which when that happens Silva will murder him. Silva needs to move up to LHW and fight Bones. That would be legit.

Re: Shogun vs Jones

It was more like Jones made Shogun look bad.

A post op Shogun made mince meat of Lyoto and you think he's a better test?

I think Rashad is a decent matchup, but after that, Anderson Silva is the best matchup.

GSP/Silva is a bad matchup and I dont care to see it. GSP is much much smaller than Anderson.

Jim Miller is a beast. He should get the winner of Pettis/Guida, the winner gets a title shot.
