Re: Ready for UFC 127?

This is the first card my friends and I are not ordering in a loooonnng time. We'll watch it the next day online. The card is simply not deep enough and lacks highly-attractive fights to pay for the PPV. The way I see it...

BJ is going to get steamrolled by the much bigger, much better conditioned Fitch.

Bisping vs Rivera could be entertaining, but I am not into Bisping's fights at all. Rivera is going to bring it to him, so that might provide for an entertaining fight.

Sotiropolous is going to submit Siver.

Lyte's fight against Condit was the best fight on the card, but has been scretched. Lyte should submit his new opponent, Ebersole.

The only other fighter in the card I am curious about is Alexander Gustafsson.

Silva indeed dosen't wanna fight Sonnen, and why should him??? Silva beat him DECISIVELY while suffering from an injured rib (a seriously depleting injury), and while Sonnen was under PED! Sonnen has to do more than the childlish & pathetic smack talk he's been doing these days in order to earn another shot at The Spider. He first need to clean his personal life, then be re-hired by the UFC, and then put a beating on a couple of top MW. I understand he's been running his mouth just to try to stay relevant and build up a re-match with Silva, but man oh man is it embarassing the latest things he has said....

Why wait? Apparently the UFC is at war with internet pirates who are streaming the shows live. The Dept of Homeland security shut down Channelsurfing.net, however, I've heard they are still operating under a different IP.

Usually the sleeper or lackluster cards are better than the hyped cards. This is an Aussie card that sold out before the fights were even announced. They don't need to put top tier matchups on.

Really hope BJ wins. A win over Fitch would be huge for him. But I see a split D going Fitchs way via wrestlef**k.

I'm typically not a fan of g-n-p, but I have to say, I love Jon Fitch. He's a grinder and doesn't put on interesting fights to most people, but I dig him. I think this is an awesome match-up of skills, but that doesn't mean it's going to be an awesome fight.

I see it as BJ's legendary takedown defense against Fitch's relentless shoots. I give BJ the edge in the stand-up, but it's only a slight edge. Fitch has a solid chin and I don't think BJ is going to be able to catch him like he caught Hughes. I think Fitch is going to get BJ down, and if he does, it should be very interesting grappling.

I like both guys as fighters. I like Fitch as a person but BJ not so much. Hope it goes Jon's way, as I'd like to see him get another crack at GSP or Shields. Fitch/Shields would be an amazing matchup IMO (but probably very, very boring).

Celio, what's with this steam rolling garbage that you speak about? You know that nobody steamrolls Bj, they just out point him.

Re: Ready for UFC 127?

I will be interested to see if fitch is as big as he usually is and has the same physical grinding game plan. He switched to a vegan diet for this camp and the rumour mill had him weighing 176 weeks out from the fight compared to 195-200 previously.
