Hey Everyone. I'm new
Just thought I'd say what's up.
Myself and two of my coworkers just started officially doing the WOD. We began with some easier workouts to kind of work up to it for a week. I.E. 1min rounds w/ 1min rest. Two days ago we started with Cindy. Needless to say it's kind of a love-hate relationship. ![]() Anyhow, look forward to the pure hell that is to come. |

BTW, about how long do you guys recommend we work on very light weight with the oly lifts before putting on poundage? Obviously it isn't going to be the same with everyone and the weight isn't really the issue. We started with minimal weight for the clean & jerk, only doing 25lbs and 35lbs on each side. I think i'm gonna just strip it to the bar next time though. I'm just curious what the average learning curve is. Any suggestions for some total newbs to oly lifting? I don't want to get any bad habits going that are going to be hard to break. |

Couple of suggestions. Read/Print the FAQ's/Starting Here sections on CF, then review. Review the Vids. Read through as many posts under all topics that you can and don't forget the archives. Most questions have been asked and answered. Visit a CF affiliate, even if you have to drive a few hours, the info/experience will be well worth the gas money. As to O lifts. If your form is good, add weight when you want. If you do not have experience with the O lifts, PVC works dang good, trust me on this. Review Vids, visit Mikes Gym(on line), check out Vids at Performance Menu. If possible, seek out an O coach or an O Team. See this site to see who is in your area.
