This article was in my local paper, not sure how you can fairly pick the fittest with the limited info they give http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/ny-lifittest-contest,0,5688262.htmlstory?co ll=ny-rightrail-bottompromo work/family safe

the selection was pretty weak by Crossfit standards.

for the men I would give the nod to Richard Hansen, or Daniel Mandell

for the women: Raquel Feder

they can last forever as evidenced by their many accomplishments in tris, marathons and the like but how many pullups can they do?

Judging fitness without numbers is like listening to music without sound.

Yea, fit is such a general term. There needs to be standards. Maybe they should have a contest to see what the standards are, then pick who the fittest is?

But that would involve serious effort and organisation on their behalf - aint gonna happen as after all, they just want to look like they do their part:-)

"We're asking Newsday readers to select the six people - three men and three women - that should go to Adelphi University's Human Performance Lab, where they will be tested on six fitness variables, to objectively determine the winner of the contest."

You gotta admit, that would be pretty fun!
