For you guys who are 200+ pounds, what is your best mile time?

I'm just looking for a good average. Thanks!

I'm not a runner at all (despite much effort, I still hate it). I did a 1mi race here and got 6:30. Not great, but since I don't put much effort into it I wasn't too upset. That said, I couldn't have kept that up much longer.

6:30 seems respectable to me!

I'm about 172 lbs and a 6:30 mile will gas me out pretty good. I can maybe do a 6:00 on a good day...

Just an interesting note.Back in the late 70s I remember seeing Steve Ovett run a 3.51 mile and been very suprised at how broad and muscular he was,not the image of an average miler.

6 minute mile. I would love to get closer to 5, but that would definitely require some specific training.

I have long legs which really helps out my mile time.

I'm 6'2" and 218lbs.

Best mile: 6:37.

Fought the urge to puke for about 4 minutes afterward while I laid on my back.

A lot of the mile is just having the psychological fortitude to push yourself through the pain.

6', 240

Best was 6:18 at the beginning of a Murph that I didn't finish. I can generally hit between 6:30 and 6:45.

Strangely for a bigger fellow I really don't dislike running. Prior to crossfit I used to do a 5k trail run with my dog 3 or 4x per week. Was ~15# lighter then, but still big.
