I have to throw votes in for rock throwing, tire-hitting AND Parkour, as I make a habit of doing all three. They are all great ways to use your environment in such a way to blur the line between work and play, and they all build functional power. Most importantly, they are all fun, too :D

Along the lines of hammering a tire, splitting wood is phenomenal and functional x2.

I like the old adage, "Splitting wood keeps you warm 3 times, splittin' it, stackin' it, and burnin' it".

If you can get your hands on the latest issue of MILO, Steve Justa is putting out some word on his training of late:
3000 punches in 40min on concrete wall(w/ gloves)
Rest 8hrs
500x500lb half squats
rest 4hrs
hold 200lb rail in different positions (bouncing off your knee?)while kicking his truck tires.
Rest 2 hours
Back lifting 200x 3000lb on 4 legged table
"Rest, go to the bar for a beer or pop"
Gotta read the article. I don't know what this guy does for a living, but there's gotta be a dossier on him somewhere.
