Sports Illustrated's 50 Fittest Athletes

Sports Illustrated recently put together a list of their 50 "fittest" athletes, and I have to say it is one of the biggest pieces of trash I have ever seen in my life.

Here's the list:

(WFS)

Sparknotes for those who don't feel like scrolling through the pictures
-They scored athleted 1-10 based on speed, strength, agility, and endurance
-Lebron was #1, scoring perfect 10's in all 4 categories
-Rich Froning was 32, getting 6.5's across the board... for comparison, NFL punter Steve Weatherford received a 7 in the strength category
-Olympic Decathlon gold medalist Ashton Eaton came in at 19
-Usain Bolt was given a 9 in endurance, leading me to believe that with his speed, we can probably expect him to break the marathon world record in the near future

Article is a joke even NOT from a Crossfit viewpoint. There was NO research that went into this.

And yes, Rich should have been higher.

Full disclaimer.... i'm probably in the minority on this board who don't think Rich should be number 1... but this list is comically bad

Like I said, I don't agree with THAT one especially, but overall I think it has a more accurate picture. Never said I endorsed it. lol

Re: Sports Illustrated's 50 Fittest Athletes

All these lists are jokes. They're not even intelligently subjective.

Probably the single most biggest joke in these lists is Carlin Isles.
They've got to be kidding. That's even more whimsical than a marathoner or golfer. He's fast for sure. But he also hardly even plays because he's a liability on the field on a weak team. That's pretty pathetic. Another one who "gave up the NFL draft to play a different, lesser known sport".
There's probably players on his own team who are fitter and more gifted let alone in the wider Rugby circles (15/7s and other codes like League).
