I have found my metcon WOD's suck if I do them in the morning, but I am stonger for ME work in the AM. Is there a scientificological explanation. Yes I invented that word.

I tend to do better in the evenings myself. I tried to force myself to get up early, before work, and do the WOD. I was able to do it, but it took me a lot longer to get into that "zone" where you are going all out. I also tend to get reved up thinking about the workout if it's towards the end of the day.

I think it just comes down to the type of person you are.

Definitely. Like, in my case, I tend to be a bit I usually train in the evening. Many of my friends, on the other hand, are early-risers and - to my continual amazement - manage to work out at full intensity within ten minutes of waking up.

I think there is a scientificological explanation. During your sleep you deplete your glycogen stores. Over the course of the day, you replenish them (with food!). More glycogen, higher MetCon performance. Maybe. Doesn't really explain better ME performance...

When I started CrossFit (almost 2 months ago), I would get up early before class, and head to the gym. I think I got a good run of short workouts then, because the gym opens at 6.30 and I have class at starting at 8:00. I missed breakfast twice and decided that I wouldn't workout before class again.

Both my ME and MetCon performance is higher in the evening, fairly significantly, so there is quite a bit of variation of my scores.

I think in my personal case it's more of
a 'gerontological' issue than a 'scientificological'
- the old joints are just better lubed up at
the end of the day.
