My goal is to make it into the Israeli Airborne Commandos. This requires me to pass a selection phase consisting of an intensive 5 days and social, psychological and intelligence tests. Additionally, a 1 year and 8 month training schedule. For this I need to be extremely strong physically, not to mention mentally. I'll let you guys help me out with the physical aspect.

So far I'm doing a modified Navy seals training regimen, without the swimming.

To give you guys an idea. I'm in the 5th week doing 6x sets of 25 push ups and crunches and 4 sets of 15 pull ups. Currently I'm running 4km(before the program I could hardly run 1km). I will be adding in running with 3kg/5kg/10kg etc.

My stats:
Height: 167cm
Weight: 56kg

I'm fairly strong for my weight, however I would like to build it up to 60-65kg while still maintaining my stamina(reason being carrying heavy equipment). How do I go about doing this? Do I need to supplement with protein?

Also any other recommendations regarding my workout. Ideas or input from soldiers...

Hey first off welcome. On a side note, an Israeli guy is training now at CrossfitNYC. He is coming to Israel in July to begin his military training. Try to post on boards looking for others to train with.

Speaking of heavy equipment, ruck marching is important. Get your body gradually used to carrying weights. Go to a surplus store and n=buy a regulation pack. Gradually increase weight, speed and distance. People who train for these types of units with no military experience often overlook rucksack marching.
