Hi everyone,

I've been following this site for a while now, but this is my first post as of yet. I'm in the market for some squat equipment, and would love to get the Ironmind Vulcan Rack and Pillars of Power combo. The only problem is the $~1,000 price tag from Ironmind's site.

On Crain's site though, they are listed at $555 combined:
(The link is 100% work and family safe; it's just a text-based price list).

Is this because they are the old version? Is this really legit? How can Crain sell them for so much cheaper than Ironmind? I've seen Lynne's posts recommending Crain before, so I assume this is legit.

Also, is Crain the only one that resells Ironmind's products for less than Ironmind charges?

The IronMind site lists the pair as $800, not $1,000. Also, Ironmind made some changes to the Vulcan series, so the difference you see could be in the difference between versions.

Bradshaw Welding sells a similar version of the Ironmind Vulcan Rack:
(work/family safe)
I have three of their portable squat racks and have been very happy with them.

Hmm, ironmind did raise its prices, but the prices that crains lists are still a lot lower than what the old racks cost, almost a $100 difference. I would call crains and double check to see exactly what you're getting. Probably an older version of the racks. Also, on a side note, crains doesn't have the best reputation with regard to reliable ordering/delivery so really make sure you call them and discuss the particulars before you buy from them.

I've come across the site and prices before, too. Looking at the copyright date at the bottom of the page I just figured that they haven't updated their prices in years. I could be wrong and they really do have good prices on Ironmind gear though. I would be curious to know what the story is if anyone finds out.
