Re: Eugene Allen's Birthday Pullup Challenge

Happy Birthday

Pulled the trigger a day early, got the target of 33! Just made it. I have a swinging bar so it get rough to keep a kip going, and around #23 the bar started to spin on me, the last ten were rough. I know I have more in me on a fixed bar. Followed with the weighted singles.

Oh yeah, goal was 33, and I'm 33.

Re: Eugene Allen's Birthday Pullup Challenge

Happy Birthday Eugene!

18 deadhang with underhand grip. Goal was 25 deadhang with either grip. I hung from the bar for 45 seconds trying for just 2 more but it was a no go. It's a new PR by one. Thanks Gant, you spotted me the seven.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EUGENE

And this is what I did.

Mission accomplished - 15 deadhang, overhand grip.

New PB.

Thank you for the challenge. Only hit 14 two days ago, this challenge inspired me to push out that tough last rep after some "hang time", lol.

Re: Eugene Allen's Birthday Pullup Challenge

I attempted this challenge yesterday but my performance was less than stellar. My hands are torn to shreds and I guess I wimped out! Today is a rest day for me, but if I'm feeling a little crazy, maybe I'll try it again...but don't hold your breath.

Happy Birthday Eugene!!

Re: Eugene Allen's Birthday Pullup Challenge

Happy Birthday, Eugene!

5 of us from CrossFit Rockwall maxed out this morning. It was maybe 40 degrees out, and the bars were cold! But, we held on as long as we could.

Mary Rigney - 39 (goal was 40...just couldn't hang on for one more)
Mike Woodruff - 32 (goal was one more than Mary, but previous PR was 25)
JJ Quisenberry - 25 (goal was 25)
Ashley Frazer - 18 (goal was 20, but still a huge PR at 18)
Dustin Webb - 8 (goal was 8...and they were 8 good ones!)

Good job everyone who has gotten new PRs today!

Happy Birthday Eugene!

I only got to 35, goal was 50. I think I'm gonna try Gant's tabata protocol for pull ups and see if I can do any better 3 months from now.

Re: Eugene Allen's Birthday Pullup Challenge

Happy b-day Eugene!
My goal was 30 but my hands gave out at 22 (pr+1).
I will be working breathing ladders and holds for time more in the future.
Age 41.

Happy Birthday.

29. A PR, but far short of my goal of 40.

Maybe next year.
