Where do you get your fiber from when on Paleo

Hey guys

What are the best sources of fiber whilst on Paleo? I figure it would pay to know this because clearly I'm not getting enough...

Vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds. Eat a lot of green leafy things. I rarely get less than 30-40 g/day according to FitDay without inclusion of whole grains.

Yeah, see I've been scoffing down the leafy greens: Various types of lettuce, spinach, broccoli etc. but still have indicators that I'm not getting enough fiber...

Is there any type of food that's Paleo compliant that packs a fiber punch?

Danny why do you think you don't get enough fiber? Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables...that should be all you need esp if you are eating Paleo. Might want to read this post on finding out if fiber is actually overrated or not...that and the dangers of bran fiber....avoid it....

You should def be getting enough if you're eating lots of greens, it's not strictly paleo but I eat quinoa for extra fiber......... and when I say not strictly paleo, i'm on a paleo diet and drinking a gallon of milk a day......... don't think that's 'strictly' paleo either

Some people take some time to adjust to paleo because of all the fiber. Just about everything paleo, except the meat, has fiber.

I can't imagine how you could not be getting enough fiber on a good paleo diet. From the little I know, it should contain loads of vegetables supplemented with nuts etc.

I tend to eat slightly lower carbs and supp with a tablespoon of Psyllium Hulls every few days. Works good.

No ideal, but works for me.

Flax hulls are a good way to get extra fiber in... not great for the Omega 3's, but I know Poliquin is a fan of them for detox and fiber purposes.

Really though, fiber should never be an issue with a dialed in Paleo approach.

Just an FYI, many have a negative effect with flax and psyllium (this has been confirmed by our previous resident naturopath too). Even with sufficient water!!
