Bumper Plates

Does anyone know where the best place to find Bumper plates for doing the oly lifts would be? The few places I find online are very expensive and i dont find them on craigslist ever. Is there no way around the cost? or am i just not looking in the right places? thanks a bunch

Re: Bumper Plates

Once in a while you'll run across some with slight flaws being gotten rid of by the major suppliers. Other than that I suspect most people who buy their own bumpers are serious enough that they won't be getting rid of them any time soon. The profile of a bumper plate owner compared to the profile of someone who buys a 300# Olympic set-up because they are intending to get in shape would potentially be pretty radically different. That is why I got a 230# weight set (the guy had apparently lost the 35# plates ) and squat stands for $100 but, like you, have never seen used bumpers for sale.

Re: Bumper Plates

do a search for wright rubber, and Jason Hughes. Good Stuff.
Also, the Garage Gym Store from CrossFit San Diego has some good deals, but you have to buy at least $500 worth of gear.

Thanks for the input guys, i found these plates for really cheap

http://www.therubberman.com/WeightPlates.asp

are those legit plates that i can throw around? or are they just rubber coated normal plates?? If they are the kind i can drop and not worry about that would be awsome! thanks again!
