Starting For newcomers to the CrossFit methodology

Newbie Question Regarding Gymnastics...

Hello everyone, I'd like to start by expressing how impressive your workout/lifestyle is! I was introduced to CF about a week and a half ago by one of my buddies who is one of the most fit humans I have ever come in contact with. I've been doing the WOD ever since, and it has been an exellent and refreshing kick in the pants. My question is, how does one learn the gymnastic portion of the workouts? Mainly, I am refering to the handstand pushups...KILLER! Today I had to use a wall to even keep my feet over my body. Would it be cheating to have a buddy spot? Thanks for your consideration, sorry if it's a stupid question.

For handstands themselves, look in the Exercises and Demos link from the main page (W/F safe) - http://www.crossfit.com/cf-info/exce...tml#Gymnastics. Roger Harrell's introductory videos are pretty darn good, IMNSHO.

From that section, scroll up to the CrossFit Exercises section and there are a couple of videos on HSPU and variations. Good Luck~

There are quite a few crossfit journals with articles by Roger and others for gymnastics via CrossFit.

Or you could visit Roger's site

W/F safe

Drillsandskills.com should be linked somewhere on the front page. American Gymnast would be another one to start off with.
