book on the snatch
Hi,
A few years ago, Coach Glassman loaned me a book on the snatch. It was the best book on the snatch I have ever read. I made a copy of it when I gave it back to him but now I can't find my copy. I would like to buy a new one (probably a used one since I doubt it is still in print). The problem is, I don't remember the name of it or the author. I am hoping someone can help me out (Coach if he isn't busy and sees this or anyone else). It is a small book, more like a booklet. It was about 50 pages maybe. It has a lot of discussion of a very technical nature regarding angles of the hips and legs and knees and such. The information also includes mention of research on these angles and which provided better speed and power in the lift. If anyone has any ideas of what this was called, please tell me. Thanks, Beth |

Re: book on the snatch
What good fortune for you, then, that this amazing in-depth book on olympic weightlifting will be available no later than September!

Re: book on the snatch
Nope, thats not it. Thanks though. I am not looking for a new book or just any. I have a library full plus the club coach course videos and the encyclopedia of weightlifting book/video combo plus the world class coaching videos (these are excellent for anyone who wants to learn these lifts).
I am looking for this particular one. I know my post is vague but someone who has read it, will know what I am talking about. |

"Development of the Clean and Jerk" by David Webster.
http://www6.mailordercentral.com/iro...sp?number=1333 wfs You should thank Greg Glassman for finding that. |

Re: book on the snatch
Thanks Derek - how did you find it? Thats the one. I love Coach for showing it to me the first time. Its an awesome book. And obviously I missed that it is actually for the clean and jerk, not the snatch. Oh well, memory does go sometimes.
