I've now finished week 7 at Ultimate Advantage and it was definitely my best week yet! Speed and explosiveness is really starting to hit its stride and Rick is very excited with where I'm at. It's motivating to see the results week after week, all culminating to one big goal. I still have 2 months remaining until the first combine I'll be attending, so plenty of time to get even better, faster, stronger!

This week, we did a lot of speed, quickness, and agility work and also destroyed my hamstrings a few times lol. This past Friday was awesome, high energy as usual! I hit a 345# box squat with bands from the top. And that came at the end of a tough week. I'm starting to kill the prowlers now too- I'm going up in weight and pushing with just as much explosiveness if not more (and that's pretty killer asphalt we have too).

All of my lifts just keep getting better, even with the increased workload and sprint sessions I have in the morning. Everyone is doing great work in the gym and smashing through PRs, it's really motivating to see. Everyone there makes me want to get to an even higher level. Even though my lifting numbers are WAY over what they used to be, I'm hungry for more and always want to hit a bigger number or a faster time. The standards just automatically raise.

Looking forward to week 8!

Great work Courtney!

Tested Sumo Deadlift PRs today and everyone is up.

I hit 415 pretty easily then mentally fell apart at 430. Still though, that's a 30# PR and 5# higher than my conventional.

Nice work yourself, Mike!

Had a nice day today as well - went up 20 lbs. on my incline bench press (from 95# to 115#). I'm training at a lighter body weight too, so I'm pretty happy. I'd like to see that number be a little higher, but at least they are heading in the right direction.

While I've hit a bit of a rough patch as I clean up my diet (not getting enough calories), things have been going well. Recently got a 5lbs PR on the sumo DL at 380lbs and tied my 1RM on conventional DL at 445lbs, but at 15lbs lighter bodyweight than before. Almost had 450lbs.

We've also changed things up within the last couple of weeks as I get ready for a Tough Mudder on June 15th. It's been fun running again especially since I no longer get lower leg cramps, which I started suffering from after a 6-month 5/3/1 cycle I finished last June. It's also fun throwing in challenges during the run, like yesterday I did a power clean ladder after running ~1.25 miles, then hit the track again for another 20 minutes (10 minutes steady pace and 10 minutes intervals). I used to wuss out on runs in the past, but the mental part of working with Rick has made a difference here as well. I'm excited to see how I do this year compared to last year.

Overall, the programming is awesome and I'm having a blast.

Great to hear guys. I've been having a blast. I'm getting ready for my meet on August 10th. I'll be checking my max about a week or two before that.
