Correct Zinc can, but it is usually zinc gluconate that upsets peoples stomachs, especially if taken on an empty one.
The Zinc in ZMA is different it is Zinc monimethionine and aspartate which a bit different. My guess it is the Magnesium, as I mentioned earlier. If it bothers you that much just don't use it, I am starting to think it is a little over priced and useless IMO.

Re: ZMA side effects

I have the vivid dreams as well. That's the only side effect I know of. However if I mix it with tribulus, I get these little red spots all over my stomach for 2-3 hours. It doesn't do it when I take them seperate, only if I take them together. Strange.

The best side effect is indeed the awesome dreams.
Make sure to take it with lots of water, and also don't take it until you actually go to bed. It will keep you awake with mind a-spinning if you take it too long away from bedtime.

Re: ZMA side effects

I just started taking it last night. Didn't notice much. I will say this though, you can get the same dose by buying the ingredients separately. I bought zinc, b-6 and magnesium by themselves and I get 500mg of mag, 50 of zinc and 100 of b-6 for $0.07 per serving. I haven't seen a ZMA product out there that can touch that price.

True. ZMA has been an excellent recovery tool for me. I wake up refreshed and have not had any issues sleeping for a while.

Although, last night's dream was OUT of this world.

Two thumbs up.

Re: ZMA side effects

Does anyone take magnesium oil as well as ZMA or is that redundant? I currently take the oil and it's good, deeper sleep, vivid dreams, but figure I might need to add zinc.
