I have been looking on craigslist with no luck, so I was thinking of trying this out. I wanted to see if anyone on the here has ever tried/succeeded with it.

I know it's a long shot, but ya never know if you don't ask.
Hey, Cody. Try this one: http://austin.craigslist.org/spo/2858595815.html(WFS)

Good luck!

Re: Buying a Concept2 from a Globo Gym?

I was thinking about standing on the street corner in a bikini asking for donations to help buy a rower, but I gave up using my body for money for Lent. Ugh.. guess I will have to keep saving. Let us know if you end up getting a deal!

Re: Buying a Concept2 from a Globo Gym?

I have just tried the same route ( not the bikini one, but to approch one of the Globo gym) here in Hungary, but they are holding on their modell C (looks like they are aware of its value....), but was told to try the rowing teams, they might upgrade their Concepts....so, maybe another route for you guys out there!?

Re: Buying a Concept2 from a Globo Gym?

ahhh yes the search for the concept2 rower.

This was one of the more frustrating steps in putting together my home gym (I'm not a super patient person!) I spent probably 8 weeks checking CL every day 2 or 3 times a day with lots of different keywords in the search (Concept, Concept2, ConceptII, rower, rowing machine.) Finally success, one was posted up for sale at a great price an hour or so before I checked, I was the first respondent to the ad and a deal was done. I had to drive 125km to go get it, at a time that wasn't super convenient to do it but given the demand for these things I did what I had to do. The lady that sold it to me commented on the immediate barrage of responses she'd had to her ad.

If the route Greg suggested doesn't work, be patient and diligent, one will come up on CL, just be ready to move FAST on it when it does.

@Greg Hammond, well done sir for building (and supporting) such a quality product!

Re: Buying a Concept2 from a Globo Gym?

I am going to look around craigslist for another month probably, it's been two already with no luck. The only Concept2 I have seen was the Model C for $500 from a rowing club.

I have been working another job to finance the garage gym, so I will pick up more hours and just get one new. ^-^

Re: Buying a Concept2 from a Globo Gym?

Keep checking craigslist ... every day - multiple times a day. maybe use the CL helper app for droid. It took me nearly a year to get my first one and I bought a broken C for $50 - fixed it up for around $100ish which included adding a pm3. Then, sold my C for $300ish and bought a D for $500ish on CL. Just. keep. looking.

If you're outfitting a gym on the cheap then you can probably buy a couple of airdynes for cheap that could be used as a substitute.
