Re: Am I blindly programming?
Snatches are generally more difficult to teach and the different hip/back/knee angles on the setup means that they don't transfer over to the deadlift as well as cleans do. Rip likes power cleans on his programs because they're pretty easy to teach and (based on how he teaches them) they will work hand in hand with your deadlift pulling motion.

I'm gonna add one more item to your reading list. http://whole9life.com/2009/12/beware...-sexy-met-con/ (WFS) This is good advice for almost everyone, but ESPECIALLY for you endurance guys that claim to want to get stronger. ![]() Hope we're a help. Oh...and I'm one of the ones that had good results with the 70's big program. Hit recent PRs of 505# deadlift, 415# squat, ~295# bench, 190# press. (The squiggly is on the bench because I used a 1 rep max calculator to find it.) |

Re: Am I blindly programming?
Thanks everyone for the advice. Good read James...I often fall for the allure of the "sexy metcon" so I appreciate the info.
Hope to post my success/results after a few weeks on CFWF/70's big! Thanks! Kev |
