Deadlift Check


I'm currently doing CFSB. I've never had any formal training with the deadlift so I'd like some input on my form. I feel the lift mainly in my lower back, however I definitely have DOMS in my hamstrings and glutes on days following heavy deadlift sessions. My PR is 335x3 right now, but that comes with less than perfect form.

Note: I skipped ahead and only watched the set at 2:18.

1) Head is craning up - get it more in line.
2) At the beginning of the lift - take all the slack out of the system and then squeeze the bar off the floor. You appear to jerk up.
3) As with #2, your hips rose a lot faster than your shoulders (the "Stripper" lift). Work to raise them at the same rate.
4) From the top of the lift, push your hips back, not your shoulders forward - this will prevent the "out and around" the knees with the bar.

Starting Strength videos are helpful too. I know they've helped me and many others out there, so you might check those out! good luck!
